| Our Company: Columbus Instruments (CI) is a world leader in the design and manufacture of instrumentation employed in animal behavior and physiology research. We are a 35 year old company based in Columbus Ohio serving the needs of researchers universities and pharmaceutical companies in over 50 countries with highly specialized instrumentation.
The Position: We seek an individual with skills in hardware and programming for new product development. We employ all forms of analog/digital circuitry with a focus on MicroChip PIC 18xxx and Motorola HC11/12 controllers as the basis for product operation. All products act as a front-end to programs running under Windows written in an assortment of MicroSoft "visual" languages (VB6/.net, etc...).
Your Skills: You have, at least 3 years, of experience in some form of data acquisition programming in the Windows environment. Your skill set includes an understanding of basic physics, some chemistry, and a working knowledge of various sensor technologies for the monitoring of physical properties (temperature, pressure, etc...). You are equally comfortable working alone or as member of a small team. Ideally, you can take a project from concept through design, implement production and user documentation as well as communicate with end-users on issues of product support. You are a "problem solver".
