General Information

The Columbus Instrument's Place Preference Apparatus is a new product designed for place conditioning and place preference experiments. The Start box is separated from the light and dark side by a single manually operated guillotine door. The light and dark side also has a removable divider. 16 infrared beams spaced 1" apart monitor motion from side to side. The Infrared sensors communicate to the computer 10 times per second through an interface. Data is collected and presented through the Auto-Track software that has proved so popular with our activity boxes. Dimensions for the mouse model (pictured here) are 16.5" (42cm) length (8.25" (21cm) per side), 10.5" (26.67cm) height, 8.5" (21.6cm) width, start box is 3.5"H (8.9cm), 3.5"W, 5" (12.7cm) Depth. Also available for rats.
